Problem with message filtering

I am filtering the messages that can be seen depending on the authentication of the user. I have a problem in that I get multiple versions of the same message on the lead page because of the responses.

Let me give more explanation:
I am using

The problem is, that I get an instance of the article for each comment. So, for example, if I have an article with four comments, it appears four times on the front page.

Anyone have any suggestions?
