Image URL problems
Squishdot Posted by on Wednesday September 15, 07:44PM, 1999
from the modem-busters dept.
Got a strange problem with Squishdot, and it's on squishdot.org as well. Each page displays Images/sitetitle.gif. However, articles display articlenumber/Images/sitetitle.gif -- for instance, https://squishdot.org/937242019/Images/sitetitle.gif. Zope finds the gif due to acquisition, but this completely defeats caching and makes pages slow to load. How do I fix this?

I'll be looking at this one too.

Update: I've been able to fix that problem with just some DTML changes for this site.
It'll be included in the next maintenance release.

Just curious, as I'm still learning DTML, how did you fix it?

Actually there were two problems, both of which I fixed in the site_header DTML method :

      • The title_image variable -- to which I prepended a so that it would add the actual site's url; and,
      • The advertising method -- to which I changed the call to advertising by making it into something like this :

        _.None,REQUEST, site_url = site_url)" >

Or you could just wait until tomorrow when I send out the maintenance release....

Where is it? 11 days and still waiting :-) Couldn't we get a CVS repository?
