Thanks, Butch. I appreciate that you're busy, but we could have used a patched release a month ago. We can't know how many people have dismissed Squishdot in the interim because it didn't work out of the box.
I see that you've switched from the comment-style tags to the dtml tags. Looks good.
It looks like there are upgrade concerns from 0.1.5 to 0.3. If you're not too concerned about backwards-compatibility, I have a fix for the Older Stuff box. It displays max_itemlist articles on the main page and the next max_itemlist headlines in Older Stuff. It doesn't use any of the complicated other_list logic. Once I install 0.3, I'll try to make a patch.
That's why I keep have to keep warning people that this software is still in ALPHA. Remember, the "re" problem came due to the upgrade from Zope 1.10.3 to Zope 2. Version 0.1.5 had been working fine with the earlier versions of Zope. I guess that's the problem with the "Internet Time" development -- I'm still not used to the concept of releasing a new version every quarter.
I've also modified the Older links so that it now displays the previous day's articles -- and you can set how many days back this list will come from. Send your patch in though -- I'll try to see if I can incorporate it.

This is just a test to see if my
comment is pre-viewable.
Check out Zope!
That's all for now!

Nope, Squishdot.org is still running the old version of Squishdot -- upgrading from the old version of Squishdot to the new version is not straightforward and I need to coordinate this upgrade with others so it maybe a while.
I'm looking to build an "export/import" tool to enable you to move your postings data out, delete your old Squish site, create a new one and then move it back in.

This would be excellent!!! Even though I'm using Debian, I'm afraid I'm going have to upgrade squishdot by hand :-(. I've made some "customization" specific to my website, so having the export/import feature would save me some time in move the postings as a "just-in-a-case" situation.
Great work!!
Just don't expect it right away though... I've got the basic algorithms in my head; coding and testing it might take a bit longer -- I'm not going to promise you an exact date (sometime next week would be a good guess though)

Great work, Butch. I was really impressed at how easily I plugged in Squishdot and how everything worked perfectly right out of the box. I tried v0.1.5 a couple of weeks ago, but didn't want to mess with patching it for Zope 2.0.
Thanks a lot for giving us such a great product, one that could really help to put Zope on the map.

The new version is terrific.
I noticed that it generates an error when previewing a reply to a posting.
But the rest of it seems peachy.
Great job!

Could you please send me (via email) the error message its generating when you reply? I'll try to recreate this tomorrow.

Are there any tricks when updating from an old, Zope 1 based installation?
Up to now, I couldn't post anymore after an update.
let's check...
